FareShare is the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors, made up of 18 independent organisations. Together, we take good quality surplus food from right across the food industry and get it to almost 11,000 frontline charities and community groups. During 2020, we redistributed 113 million meals through our FareShare Regional Centres and our retail surplus model FareShare Go, reaching over 1 million people.

Hunger is a growing issue in the UK and while there is surplus food that is otherwise going to waste, we believe that this food should be used to feed people first.

The role

This important role sits within our Supply Chain and Logistics team, responsible for processing offers of surplus food from our food partners into our network of Regional Centres and the wider community. This role is essential in ensuring that the food we are offered reaches the thousands of charities and community groups we support across the UK.

The role is a combination of customer service provision and supply chain coordination with a strong data focus. You will analyse varied datasets to decide how food is distributed across our Network to ensure optimal and sustainable distribution. You will also be responsible for continuing and championing the high levels of customer service we provide to the food industry and our network of Regional Centres.

You will work closely with FareShare’s food suppliers, transport partners, and our Regional Centres to identify and overcome operational challenges to distribution. The successful candidate will also work closely with our Food Commercial team to ensure our food partners receive excellent operational support and customer service. We are continually evolving our processes and you will work within a culture of continuous improvement to improve operations within the team.

Main areas of responsibility

Food Industry Customer Service

• Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring offers are responded to and processed within agreed service level requirements
• Work closely with the Food Commercial Managers, providing feedback and reporting on service issues and attending meetings and site visits as appropriate
• Assist Food Team with insight and feedback from food businesses, capturing key account information in our CRM system

 Regional Centre allocation

• Adhere to the requirements of the Network Service Level Agreement
• Work with the Supply Chain and Logistics Manager to match food supplied to Regional Centre needs, always working to maximise surplus redistribution and minimise waste 
• Ensure that offers are allocated in an efficient and timely manner according to network needs and agreed priorities to maximise social impact of surplus food
• Using our CRM system, maintain timely records of accounts, allocations, offers and case management
• Maintain high standards of customer service to the Network and Operations teams and develop respectful and effective working relationships with the Regional Centres.
• Build your understanding of our Network and your relationship with Regional Centres through a programme of regular site visits in collaboration with the Network Development Managers
• Work with the Network Development Managers and Food Supply & Services Managers to identify opportunities to maximise and grow redistributed food volumes

Logistics and transport

• Work with Commercial Managers and hauliers to implement best practice processes and reduce costs for FareShare whilst maximising acceptance of food
• Work with hauliers to plan transport requirements and ensure that we are able to meet network demand
• Work with Regional Centres to coordinate and plan routes for internal FareShare logistics
• Reactively solve transport issues throughout the working day

Data and Analysis

• Use FareShare PowerBI reports to ensure optimal product allocation within contract requirements
• Specify, build, monitor and analyse Salesforce reports to increase efficiency of allocation
• Use dashboards to monitor network issues
• Lead regional network agreement service level review meetings
• Report on data integrity issues to the Network Analyst

Team coordination and representation

• Support the Team providing assistance and cover when required e.g. during busy periods, annual leave and sickness to ensure an even spread of work across the team
• Support the training of new team members
• Represent the Supply Chain and Logistics team at network cluster and food category meetings
• Deputise for the Supply Chain and Logistics Manager when required
• Keep team process instructions up to date Project support
• Act as Supply Chain and Logistics team lead on cross functional projects as required alongside stakeholders including: retailers, funders, and strategic food partners

Key Responsibilities

Partnerships

• Support with creating proposals and pitches to secure Brand, Corporate and Commercial Partnerships, with a strong focus on shared purpose and mutual benefit, to create successful long term strategic partnerships.
• Support with relationship management of current partners of Rays of Sunshine, ensuring they have materials to aid their fundraising.
• To manage the input of corporate partnership data on the CRM system (currently Donorfy).
• Manage the updates to the corporate pipeline master document, ensuring appropriate actions are met within deadline.
• Supporting the Corporate Volunteer Researcher to undertake the necessary research to support our pipeline of approaches.

Philanthropy

• Creating supporter updates and reports to demonstrate the impact of funding received from our Patrons and Major Donors, providing excellent stewardship to existing donors.
• Provide support with the event planning of major donor events, and attend in person to provide support of events on the day. 

Trusts and Foundations

•  Support with research and the successful completion applications to secure donations from a pipeline of identified Trusts and Foundations

Stewardship

•  Identifying new opportunities to create wow moments for donors and provide excellent stewardship of all major donors and partnerships.

General

• General administrative duties, including record meeting notes and actions, following up with partners, sending out of promotional materials, monitoring and responding to email enquiries, and taking telephones calls.
• Any other duties to support the success of the fundraising team.

About the role
Are you a registered Health Care Professional with an interest in the early diagnosis of cancer looking for a new challenge and interested in working in the charitable sector? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join Macmillan’s Centre of Clinical Expertise. 

During this two day a week six month role you will be leading on agreed pieces of work focused on the earlier diagnosis of cancer. The specific details of projects are to be confirmed but potential current projects include:

• Investigating ways to address the inequalities in the early diagnosis of bowel cancer 
• Supporting Primary Care Teams to address the inequalities faced by under-represented populations in the earlier diagnosis of cancer 
• The impact of co-morbidities on the earlier diagnosis of cancer, in particular in under-served populations.

You will bring insight, ideas, experience and thought leadership to the role to inform issues impacting on the earlier diagnosis of cancer with a focus on the impact of Health Inequalities. 

About you
We are looking for a motivated and driven individual with evidence of management and clinical leadership experience and a strong interest in the earlier diagnosis of cancer, in particular for those with poorer outcomes. You will need to have good working knowledge of the current healthcare system and be a clinician with strong understanding of the issues impacting cancer diagnosis.

Digital Champions are volunteers who inspire and motivate others to get online, while encouraging and supporting them to develop their digital skills and confidence. As the project continues to evolve, there will be an increased focus on Digital Champions placed in local health care settings across the borough. Digital Champions will operate at local community venues including Community Pharmacies, Phlebotomy clinics, and at community events, with a strong focus on NHS App promotion to Bexley residents. This is an opportunity to be at the centre of an exciting, innovative partnership project, working closely with the statutory and voluntary sector partners in taking the scheme into a new phase of development. Key Duties:

• To be the first point of contact for the existing network of Digital Champions in the borough, and support organisations to recruit, onboard and manage new Digital Champions.

Job Title: Project Coordinator (NOD)

The Royal College of Ophthalmologists (RCOphth) is a membership organisation and the voice of the profession, with over 4,000 members in the UK and overseas. Our role is to champion the specialty, set standards of training and practice, and influence change to make a difference to the lives of patients with eye conditions.

Job Purpose

The National Ophthalmology Database (NOD) is a core Department workstream using clinical audit data to identify improvements and provide advice, to inform patient care, safety, and service delivery. This is a new role working with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and support the programe manager to deliver activities of the NOD. The post requires strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. The role will be responsible for all aspects of project support and day-to-day management of the NOD website, including implementation of new developments with the supplier and analysis of usage to suggest areas for improvement.

Main Areas of Work and Responsibility

• Assist the NOD Manager in project planning to identify and track deviations from the project plan and budget, identifying and logging any risks and issues, and improving project procedures
• Support the NOD Manager with administration, project outputs, applying and explaining the information governance, outlier, and other project policies to stakeholders
• Management of the NOD website including liaising with the website supplier, working with the NOD Manager to develop a content schedule, editing content, assisting users with queries, authorising user access
• Review and analyse website performance and make recommendations for improvement
• Lead and manage the delivery of specific workstreams as agree with the NOD Manager
• Administer virtual and in person meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes, following up actions
• Liaison with the project teams and RCOphth functions e.g. policy and communications team

JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a Psychometrician for two days per week to lead psychometric analyses and interpret the examination results of the Royal College of Pathologists.

The College is responsible for the delivery of pathology examinations for doctors, scientists, oral pathologists (dentists) and veterinary pathologists in 17 specialties – the Fellowship examinations of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath). The FRCPath Part 1 is held online and is a test of knowledge while FRCPath Part 2 is held in person around the UK as well as in the Republic of Ireland and, for histopathology, in international centres such as Dubai and Egypt. The College is regulated by the General Medical Council for the medical examinations and the General Dental Council for the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology examinations, but the examinations are open to all appropriately qualified candidates.

The FRCPath examinations are held twice a year in Spring and Autumn and attracts approximately 1,200 candidates per session across the specialties. While some examinations attract up to 200 candidates, some examinations consistently attract very small numbers of candidates, with a number of examination cohorts sitting somewhere in between. The Psychometrician will advise on the appropriate data collection methods for the examinations and undertake psychometric analyses of appropriate examination data for each examination session and will, in time, be asked to provide analysis of longitudinal data.

As the College continues to develop its examinations, the Psychometrician will possess sufficient expertise to provide advice on the appropriate psychometric tests to undertake for the specialty examinations as different formats or methods of delivery are considered.

The examinations are delivered by an examinations team in the College which sits within the Learning Directorate. Each specialty examination is supported by an appropriately qualified panel, led by a Panel Chair, all of whom are overseen by the Clinical Director of Examinations (a pathologist). The Psychometrician will be expected to communicate with a wide range of individuals regarding the College examinations, with varying levels of knowledge about psychometrics, and will provide training for examiners and staff on a regular basis.

The College is a professional membership organisation dedicated to the advancement of the science and practice of pathology. There are currently approximately 12,000 members, all of whom are pathologists based in hospitals, universities and laboratories in the UK and overseas. The College’s main tasks are to set and maintain training standards for doctors and scientists, to advice on the appointment of consultant pathologists, to ensure the membership is kept up to date with current practice through the continuing professional development scheme, and to promote the latest developments in pathology by holding scientific meetings.

We are seeking an experienced Asylum Support Advice Worker to help deliver our new maternity health justice partnership targeting refugee and asylum seeking women in Greater Manchester and East Cheshire.

About Maternity Action

Established in 2008, Maternity Action protects and strengthens the rights of pregnant women and new parents to employment, social security and healthcare, irrespective of migration status.

We employ specialist employment and asylum/immigration lawyers who represent women who experience maternity discrimination at work, difficulties in accessing maternity pay and benefits or are wrongly charged for their NHS maternity care. We provide second tier advice to NGOs on housing and subsistence for refugee, asylum seeking and migrant women. We support strategic litigation within our areas of expertise. Our policy and campaigning work is driven by the injustice we see from our advice services. We prioritise issues affecting low income and marginalised women, including migrant and asylum seeking women.

Maternity Action has grown over the past four years and we are now a team of 26. We are passionate about our work, but we are committed to our staff having a genuine work life balance. The majority of our employees have some form of caring responsibilities and Maternity Action is a genuinely flexible employer. 22 of our 26 staff work part time and staff are located across the UK. We have recently expanded our operations and have developed two Health Justice Partnerships with NHS Trusts.  We are funded by a variety of large charitable funders, smaller grant making organisations and unions.

About the role

We have secured funding for a 12 month pilot maternity health justice partnership targeting refugee and asylum seeking women in Greater Manchester and East Cheshire.  This is the first UK maternity health justice partnership targeting this group of women.  We have an existing maternity health justice partnership in Greater Manchester and East Cheshire which advises on employment rights, maternity pay and mainstream benefits.

You will deliver advice to pregnant women and new mothers on Home Office support and healthcare entitlements and provide ongoing advice and support where needed.  You will also refer to other support services as needed, including food banks, baby banks and community groups.  You will deliver outreach and engagement sessions to maternity services and voluntary organisations, working with our Outreach and Engagement Officer.  You will also contribute to the development, monitoring and evaluation of the pilot. The role will keep up to date with asylum support and related developments.

This role forms part of our Immigration and Asylum Advice team, which is led by our Senior Legal Officer.  The team consists of a Legal Officer, Senior Project Officer and Casework Support Officer.  The role will coordinate with the advice and outreach workers delivering our employment and benefits maternity health justice partnership in the region.

About you

We are looking for an experienced adviser with a thorough knowledge of asylum support and experience of liaising with the Home Office and Migrant Help.  You will have experience of delivering complex advice, preferably by telephone, of advocating on behalf of vulnerable client groups and working with interpreters.  You will have an excellent phone manner and the ability to deal with discussions of sensitive health issues.
